The Hope in the Eyes of the Child Hala

Hala is an 8 years old orphan who lost her father and lives in Hittin Camp. She was suffering from loss of eyesight in one of her eyes since birth. After being referred to the MAP Hittin/ Schneller Camp Health Center, it was found upon examining her by an ophthalmologist that she suffers from a permanent congenital deformity in her left eye and that she also suffers from poor eyesight in the right eye subject to improvement.

Accordingly, MAP coordinated its efforts with Jordan Hospital and Dr. Samer Kharma (Ophthalmology Consultant),  to perform surgery on the child in her left eye. Dr. Kharma volunteered to perform a surgery for enucleation of the eye in order to place a glass eye to replace the damaged one. 

An ophthalmology Specialist volunteered to monitor the child's case until the entire treatment was completed.
