Being an intern at Medical Aid for Palestinians has been a meaningful and insightful experience. My role consists of monitoring and reporting the impact of different projects at MAP's community and medical center in Gaza Camp. For instance, I followed and monitored the impact of the "Space of Hope" project in collaboration with UOSSM, which aims to provide Palestinian refugees with mental health and psychosocial support services. It is important to reiterate how crucial these services are, given that many individuals in the camp still face social stigma when seeking psychological support, which makes them reluctant to speak about their emotions or mental health struggles. The project consists of art therapy sessions for children, individuals, and group counselling sessions for men and women that aim to create safe spaces where they can learn, share, and take comfort in knowing they are not alone I also followed a project funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), which aims to develop a free physiotherapy program dedicated to women. I could witness the strong and positive impact the project has had so far, given that most beneficiaries were either unaware or unable to benefit from it due to financial inability |

Being an intern at Jordan Medical Aid for Palestinians has been enlightening and an experience where I have learned lots on a professional level but also on a personal level. Being part of the communications & media team was new for me, but it truly has broaden my scope. I had the opportunity to learn how to navigate information and make it easy readable while also still representing MAP's mission clearly. I was responsible for representing MAP Jordan in a visually good way to attract new partners and engagement overall Due to my position, I was able to visit multiple camps on various occasions, saw projects turn into reality at different times, and therefore clearly was shown how projects affect people's lives. Hence I was able to understand the authenticity of MAP Jordans mission. I developed my strategic and critical thinkings skills, as I have gained an understanding of how each photo, post, and text can serve the organisation's long-term goals |
